Often times, a new puppy owner would like to know which products I have found that I would recommend. With so many pet products in the marketplace, shopping for your new puppy can be confusing. Here are just some of my personal favorites, along with where to find them.
We are feeding our poodles Royal Canin Medium adult formula. Since 1968, Royal Canin has been at the forefront of pet health nutrition. Their obsession with detail is what makes it possible to deliver precise, effective nutrition for a variety of breeds, sizes, lifestyles and health needs
Our puppies are eating Royal Canin Medium Puppy formula. This food can be found online at Chewy.com or on Amazon. If you chose to feed another brand, brands that I would recommend would be Nutro Ultra, Dr. Gary's Better Bred, Earthborn Holistic's Unrefined, Natural Balance or Eukanuba.

Through the years I have found that I really love the collars and leashes that Lupine makes. They are guaranteed even if chewed! Very cute designs and sturdy buckles, too. You can find them at most pet stores, or you can shop their website directly at: https://www.lupinepet.com
Poodles have hair instead of fur, so I have found shampoo formulated especially for dogs to be a necessary item when bathing and grooming. I love both the scent and squeaky clean, silky hair after using Isle of Dogs shampoos. This brand came highly recommended by our groomer and it is a high quality shampoo that is worth the price. They also offer other scents and formulas, but this is my favorite for new puppies. This can be found on Chewy: https://www.chewy.com/isle-dogs-tearless-puppy-shampoo/dp/111359
When brushing your poodle, you will also need a light conditioning spray. It is best to never brush through a dry coat as it can cause hair breakage. I really like this one by iGroom, also available at Chewy: https://www.chewy.com/igroom-magic-detangler-dog/dp/235781 In a pinch, you can use a squirt of conditioner diluted in water in a spray bottle.
Your puppy will arrive to you microchipped, however it is best to also have an ID tag on his/her collar. I love the tags made by a small Etsy store called the HipHoundCompany! Unique and really well made, you can find her selection at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/hiphoundcompany
In order to maintain a poodle coat, you will need both a brush and a comb. The comb can help work out tangles and is a great way to check that you have brushed the hair to the skin. I like this Andis brush during the puppy stage https://www.chewy.com/andis-pin-brush-greenwhite/dp/266353 and https://www.chewy.com/andis-steel-pet-comb-75-in/dp/54017 for the stainless comb. The 10" comb size works best for maintaining a standard poodle. The premier brush for maintaining an adult standard poodles coat is https://www.cherrybrook.com/chris-christensen-big-g-and-big-k-long-pin-slicker-brushes/ The Big K by Chris Christensen will last throughout the lifetime of your dog. An investment to be sure, but very worth it. I really love these Bravura cordless clippers by Wahl, https://www.chewy.com/wahl-bravura-lithium-ion-cordless-dog/dp/151799 available in several fun colors. Very easy to use and to clean.
